“Ah… well that’s too bad.” Conner could tell she was still keeping in shape even though she claimed not to be doing much. “So have you, uh… have you spoken to your father?”
“Hmm. Their pretty loved up at the moment anyway. Kinda funny how you thought they would never work out, huh?” A tiny ironic smile tugs at her lips and there’s a ghost of laughter behind it. “Slade? I’ve seen him here and there. Not like we have one another on speed dial or nothing.”
“Well, I thought they could work if they stayed faithful. But meh, who am I to judge, right? Have you worked? I mean, with your dad?” Conner acted casually, but he was pleading inside that she had not gone down that path.
“You don’t have to tell me. Timmy and I have had our share of adventures in Gotham. I’m thinking of just kicking back for a week, adjusting to being back home again, then I’ll get back to the whole hero gig. What’ve you been doing with yourself? Still talking to Jason and Terra?”

“Same here. I’ve been staying in Smallville since the army let me go. I’ll be…
“You don’t have to tell me. Timmy and I have had our share of adventures in Gotham. I’m thinking of just kicking back for a week, adjusting to being back home again, then I’ll get back to the whole hero gig. What’ve you been doing with yourself? Still talking to Jason and Terra?”
“Heh, thanks. So, if you don’t mind me asking, how are you?”
Rose shrugs. “I could be better, I could be worse. You?”
“Same here. I’ve been staying in Smallville since the army let me go. I’ll be back into my apartment soon though. Where’ve you been staying? Still at the tower?”
“Oh. How did you get out of the army thing?” Rose raises a delicate brow in curiosity. “I never went back to the Titans. Got my own place in Gotham.”
“Well, turns out one of the scientists at the base was doing unwarranted experiments on civilians to make his own super army. He was literally going to take over the world. I took down all of his drones by myself and with some of the right documentation, I proved my case. They said I had done far and beyond what was expected of me and relieved me of my duty with a few medals to boot. Honestly, I’m just glad to be back. So what made you move to Gotham?”
